- Description
- How to play?
Players take turns throwing bolas (two balls connected by a string) at a ladder-shaped target, trying to wrap the bolas around the rungs to score points.
Objective
The objective of Ladder Golf is to score points by wrapping bolas (two balls connected by a string) around the rungs of a ladder-shaped target. The player or team with the most points at the end of the game wins.
Setup
- Targets: Two ladder-shaped targets, each with three rungs.
- Bolas: Sets of bolas, each consisting of two balls connected by a string. Each player or team should have their own color of bolas.
- Players: A minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 players can participate. Players should be at least 5 years old.
Basic Rules
- Scoring Rungs:
- Top rung: 3 points
- Middle rung: 2 points
- Bottom rung: 1 point
- Place the targets 15 feet apart.
- Players take turns throwing their bolas at the opposite target, trying to wrap them around the rungs.
- Players must stand behind the throwing line (marked 15 feet from the target).
- Each player or team throws three bolas per turn.
- Points are scored based on where the bolas land after all bolas are thrown.
- The first player or team to reach exactly 21 points wins. If a player or team exceeds 21 points, their score for that round is not counted.
Variations
- Shortened Distance: For younger players, reduce the distance between the targets.
- Team Play: Teams of two players each, with teammates standing at opposite ends.
- Double Points: Assign double points to the rungs for a more challenging game.
How to Play

- Set up the two ladder targets 15 feet apart.
- Decide the throwing order by a coin toss or mutual agreement.

- Remove the bolas and prepare for the next round.
- Continue playing rounds until one player or team reaches exactly 21 points.
Winning the Game
- The first player or team to reach exactly 21 points wins.
