Game Rules

Objective

  • Loyal Servants of Arthur: Complete three successful quests to win.
  • Minions of Mordred: Sabotage three quests or assassinate Merlin to win.

Setup

  1. Distribute Roles: Randomly distribute character cards to each player, ensuring the correct balance of loyal servants and minions based on the number of players.
  2. Reveal Roles: All players close their eyes. Minions of Mordred open their eyes to recognize each other. Merlin also opens their eyes, but the minions do not know Merlin’s identity.
  3. Select the First Leader: Choose the first leader randomly. The leader will propose a team for the first quest.

How to Play

  1. Propose a Team: The leader proposes a team for the quest. The number of players on the team is determined by the quest number.
  2. Vote on the Team: All players vote to approve or reject the proposed team. If the majority approves, the team goes on the quest. If rejected, leadership passes to the next player.
  3. Conduct the Quest: Players on the quest secretly choose success or fail cards. Loyal servants must choose success, while minions can choose success or fail.
  4. Reveal Quest Results: Shuffle and reveal the chosen cards. If all cards are success, the quest is successful. If any fail card is present, the quest fails.
  5. Track the Outcome: Mark the quest result on the board. Repeat the process for subsequent quests.

Special Roles

  • Merlin: Knows the identity of the minions but must remain hidden.
  • Assassin: Attempts to identify and assassinate Merlin at the end of the game if the loyal servants win three quests.

Winning the Game

  • Loyal Servants of Arthur: Win if they complete three successful quests.
  • Minions of Mordred: Win if they sabotage three quests or successfully assassinate Merlin after three successful quests by the loyal servants.

Strategy Tips

  • Deception and Deduction: Use deduction to identify teammates and opponents. Employ deception to mislead the other side.
  • Voting Patterns: Pay attention to voting patterns to infer loyalties.
  • Team Selection: As a leader, carefully select team members to ensure mission success or failure as needed.

Settings and Variations

  • Player Variations: Adjust the number of special roles (Merlin, Assassin) based on player count for balanced gameplay.
  • Expansion Packs: Incorporate expansions for added roles and complexity
