- How to play?
Cannonball or Dodgeball is a fun game where the players play against each other, one player has the ball and has to throw and hit the ball to other players. The player with the ball can only take three steps before throwing. If the ball hits a player and then touches the ground the player is eliminated. If the ball hits a player and then another player catches it before it touches the ground the game continues, no player is eliminated, if the ball hits a player and then the player catches the ball before it touches the ground the player who threw the ball is eliminated. When a player is eliminated he has to wait until the player who eliminated him is eliminated to play again.
Objective
In Cannonball, players aim to eliminate opponents by hitting them with a ball and continue until only one player is left standing or the pre-set time limit expires.

Setup
- Playing Area: Choose an open space such as a gymnasium, playground, or large backyard and set clear boundaries.
- Ball: Select a soft, bouncy ball ideal for dodgeball, ensuring it’s not too hard to prevent injuries.
- Teams: Split players into two teams or allow individual play.
Game Rules
Basic Rules
Starting the Game
- Players should spread out within the boundaries.
- Nominate one player to initiate the game with the ball.
Movement
- The player with the ball may take up to three steps before throwing it.
- All other players can move freely within the boundaries.
Throwing the Ball
- Target the opposing players with the ball, avoiding kicks or rolls.
- Always aim below the shoulders to prevent head injuries.
Eliminations
- You eliminate a player by hitting them with the ball, which must then touch the ground.
- If a ball strikes a player but another player catches it before it hits the ground, you eliminate no one.
- Eliminate the thrower if a player catches the ball directly after being hit, before it touches the ground.
Re-entry
- Stand on the sidelines after elimination.
- Rejoin the game once another player eliminates the one who ousted you.
Special Situations
Boundary Violations
- Disqualify any player who steps out of bounds.
Stalemate
- Introduce an additional ball if the game slows down due to a lack of eliminations.
Time Limit
- Optionally, impose a time limit. The player or team with the fewest eliminations when time expires wins.
Safety Rules
- Verify the playing area is free of obstacles.
- Dress in suitable clothing and footwear for safety.
- Use a soft ball to minimize injury risks.
- Strictly avoid headshots; penalties or disqualifications may apply.
Winning the Game
- Conclude the game when only one player remains or the allotted time ends. The last player or team standing wins.
