Game Overview
Guess Who is an engaging and interactive guessing game where you uncover your assigned identity through a series of questions. You tape names of people, animals, or objects to your foreheads or backs and rely on deductive reasoning and clever questioning to determine who or what you are. With its simple setup and dynamic gameplay, Guess Who promises fun and excitement for players of all ages.
Game Objective
Deduce your assigned identity by asking strategic questions to other players. Use careful questioning and deductive reasoning to correctly identify who or what you are within a limited number of questions.
Game Setup
Assigning Identities
Write names of people, animals, or objects on small pieces of paper or sticky notes. Tape one of these identities to each player’s forehead or back, ensuring they cannot see their own identity but that other players can.
Determining Question Limit
Decide on the number of questions each player can ask to uncover their identity. A common limit is 20 questions per player.
Gameplay Rules
Asking Questions
Take turns asking questions to other players to uncover your assigned identity. Phrase your questions to elicit helpful information about the identity, such as characteristics, traits, or associations.
Answering Questions
Respond to questions with “yes,” “no,” or “I don’t know.” Avoid providing any additional information that may give away the identity too easily.
Guessing the Identity
At any point during the game, you can make a guess and identify your assigned identity. If you guess correctly, you win the round. If you guess incorrectly, continue asking questions until you either correctly identify your identity or reach the question limit.
Rotating Roles
After each round, rotate the identities so that each player has the opportunity to guess a different identity.
Game End
Guess Who typically lasts for about 10 minutes per round, depending on the number of players and the complexity of the identities. The game ends when all players have had a chance to guess their assigned identity, and a winner may be declared based on the number of correct guesses.
