Blindfold a person and have them stand on a chair. Tell them they are going to jump off the chair when it is held high in the air. Two people on the side lift the chair slightly off the ground. The host asks the player on the chair to touch them on the shoulder, then the host ducks so the person thinks they are very high in the air. They then jump and land way sooner than they expect. It’s quite funny.

  • 1 blindfold
  • 2 assistants (to lift the chair)
  • 1 host (to guide the player)

  3. Select one player to be the first jumper.
  4. Blindfold the jumper and guide them to stand on the chair.
  5. Position the two assistants on either side of the chair, ready to lift it slightly.

How to Play

  1. Blindfold the Jumper: The selected player is blindfolded and carefully guided to stand on the chair.
  2. Lifting the Chair: The two assistants slightly lift the chair off the ground, creating the illusion of height.
  3. The Host’s Role: The host stands in front of the blindfolded player and asks them to touch their shoulder. The host then ducks or moves away, making the player believe they are much higher off the ground.
  4. The Jump: The host instructs the player to jump off the chair. The player, thinking they are jumping from a significant height, is surprised when they land almost immediately.
  5. Reactions and Laughter: The blindfold is removed, and everyone enjoys the player’s reaction. Repeat the process with other players.

Safety Tips

  • Ensure the chair is stable and on a flat surface.
  • Make sure the area around the chair is clear of obstacles.
  • Assist the jumper in stepping onto and off the chair to prevent accidents.
  • Only lift the chair slightly off the ground to avoid any risk of injury.

  • Enjoy the game and the laughter it brings, but never force anyone to participate if they are uncomfortable.

Variations
