Overview
Sardines is a fun and exciting reverse hide-and-seek game where one person hides, and everyone else seeks. When a seeker finds the hider, they quietly join them in the hiding spot. The game continues until all players are packed into the hiding spot like sardines in a can.
Objective
The goal of the game is to be the last seeker to find the hiding spot or to be the person hiding.
Setup
- Choose a play area: Decide on the boundaries of the play area. This can be a house, a section of a park, or any defined space.
- Select the hider: Choose one person to be the first hider.
How to Play
- The Hider Hides:
- The chosen hider goes to the hiding spot while everyone else closes their eyes and counts to a pre-decided number (e.g., 50 or 100).
- The Seekers Seek:
- Once the counting is done, the seekers spread out to find the hider.
- When a seeker finds the hider, they must quietly join them in the hiding spot without alerting the other seekers.
- Squishing Like Sardines:
- As each seeker finds the hider, they hide with them.
- The game continues until the last seeker finds the group.
- New Round:
- The first seeker to find the hider in the current round becomes the hider for the next round.
Rules
- Quiet Joining: Seekers must join the hider quietly to avoid revealing the hiding spot.
- Boundaries: Players must stay within the agreed boundaries.
- No Cheating: No peeking while counting and no revealing the hiding spot intentionally.
- Safety: Ensure the hiding spot is safe and not hazardous.
Tips for Hiders
- Choose a spot that is not immediately obvious but still within the boundaries.
- Stay quiet to avoid detection.
Tips for Seekers
- Search systematically to cover more ground.
- Be alert for any unusual silence or subtle clues.
End of Game
The game can continue indefinitely with new rounds or until players decide to stop.
