“We’re gonna play “Sneak,” a game with two teams competing to steal and possess the most balls. Each team defends one half of the field where members are always SAFE. Each side has a “Ball Zone” with 5 balls and a “Waiting Area.” The goal is to steal your opponent’s balls and place them in your hula hoop. You can steal by crossing into the opponent’s side and taking balls from their “Ball Zone.” Balls can be thrown to teammates only on the opponent’s side. Each player can handle one ball at a time. If tagged on the opponent’s side, you go to their “Waiting Area” until tagged by your teammate. Defend your “Ball Zone” and “Waiting Area,” but stay 3 feet away from their edges. If a player reaches an opponent’s Ball Zone without being tagged, one foot inside the hula hoop is safe. The game ends when one side has 9 balls or lacks free players.

Game Objective

The objective of Sneak is for each team to steal balls from the opposing team’s “Ball Zone” and place them in their own hula hoop. Players must navigate the field, evade opponents, and defend their territory to gain the advantage and secure victory.

Game Setup

  1. Dividing into Teams: First, divide the participants into two teams of equal size.
  2. Setting up the Field: Next, mark the playing area with 14 traffic cones to delineate the boundaries and create designated zones. Each half of the field should contain a “Ball Zone” with 5 balls and a “Waiting Area.”
  3. Distributing Equipment: Finally, place 5 balls in each team’s “Ball Zone” and position a hula hoop in each team’s territory as a goal for storing stolen balls.

Gameplay Rules

  1. Starting the Game: Begin with both teams positioned in their respective halves of the field.
  2. Stealing Balls: Players must enter the opposing team’s half of the field to steal balls from their “Ball Zone.” After retrieving a ball, they can throw it to teammates on their own side of the field.
  3. Tagging and Waiting Zones: If an opposing player tags a player on their half of the field, the tagged player must move to the opponent’s “Waiting Area.” They can only return to their own half if a teammate tags them.
  4. Defending Zones: Players can defend both their “Ball Zone” and “Waiting Zone” but must stay at least 3 feet away from the edge of these zones.
  5. Safe Zone: If a player enters the opposing team’s “Ball Zone” without being tagged, they can place one foot inside the hula hoop to be considered safe.
  6. Returning Balls: If a player tags an opponent with a ball or intercepts a ball while defending their zone, they must return it to their “Ball Zone” immediately.
  7. Game End: Continue the game until one team possesses 9 out of the 10 balls, or a team no longer has enough players free of the “Waiting Zone” to continue playing.
