Basically… everyone in the group spins around on their own, while looking up, for a certain amount of time (i.e. 1 minute) and then as soon as the time is up, the person who is ‘it’ (designated earlier) has to catch as many people as they can. For the next round, everyone who got caught is now ‘it’ also. It might not last long, or have too much of a goal, but it’s definitely a fun game to play

Objective

Spin Chasey is a fun and energetic game where players spin around and then try to catch each other. The objective is to avoid being caught by the person who is “it” and to catch as many players as possible when you become “it”.

Players

  • Minimum: 5 players
  • Maximum: No limit

Required Age

  • Minimum Age: 8 years

Items Needed

  • Timer (or a way to measure time, such as a smartphone)

Game Setup

  1. Designate a Play Area: Choose an open space free of obstacles to avoid injuries.
  2. Select the First “It”: Randomly select one player to be “it” for the first round.
  3. Set the Timer: Have a timer ready to count down one minute.

How to Play

Round 1:

  1. Spin Phase:
    • All players, including the one who is “it,” start spinning around while looking up at the sky.
    • Continue spinning for one minute.
  2. Chase Phase:
    • When the timer goes off, players stop spinning.
    • The person who is “it” must quickly try to catch as many players as possible.
    • Any player who gets caught must stand still in place until the round ends.

Subsequent Rounds:

  1. New “Its”:
    • All players who were caught in the previous round join the original “it” in trying to catch others.
  2. Repeat the Rounds:
    • Reset the timer for one minute.
    • All uncaught players spin again for one minute.
    • When the timer goes off, the new “its” must catch the remaining players.

Game End

  • The game can continue for as many rounds as desired.
  • The game ends when there are no more players left to catch or when the players decide to stop.

  • Ensure the play area is safe and free of obstacles.
  • Keep an eye on players to make sure they don’t get too dizzy.
  • Encourage players to have fun and be good sports.
