Rock Paper Scissors Race
Two teams are separated by a hoop circuit on the ground. The objective is that all players of one team reach the opposing team's side. To do this one player at a time has to jump on one foot through the hoop circuit and when they meet a player of the other team face to face they have to play rock paper scissors, the winner continues and the loser returns to his team.
Balloon Defence
Balloon Defence is a capture the flag variant where teams must compete to pop the other team's balloons.
Broken Telephone with Mimic
The players stand in a line facing the back of the player in front of them. The first player in the line is given the name of a film which he has to mime to the player in front of him. the player in front of him mimes what he received to the next player and so on. the last player has to say out loud the film he thinks it is.
Wheel Barrow Race
Two or more teams. One player inside the wheelbarrow and one carrying the wheelbarrow. They go through a circuit and the first to cross the finish line wins.
Bottle Bomb
Players stand around a table. Music plays and players have to do a bottle flip until the bottle stands still. When they succeed they pass the bottle to the next player. When the music stops the player with the bottle in his hand is eliminated.
Cannonball
Cannonball or Dodgeball is a fun game where the players play against each other, one player has the ball and has to throw and hit the ball to other players. The player with the ball can only take three steps before throwing. If the ball hits a player and then touches the ground the player is eliminated. If the ball hits a player and then another player catches it before it touches the ground the game continues, no player is eliminated, if the ball hits a player and then the player catches the ball before it touches the ground the player who threw the ball is eliminated. When a player is eliminated he has to wait until the player who eliminated him is eliminated to play again.
Spin Chasey
Basically... everyone in the group spins around on their own, while looking up, for a certain amount of time (i.e. 1 minute) and then as soon as the time is up, the person who is 'it' (designated earlier) has to catch as many people as they can. For the next round, everyone who got caught is now 'it' also. It might not last long, or have too much of a goal, but it's definitely a fun game to play
End of the World
End of the World, Make a large circle with the rope on the floor, have the group stand in the centre of the circle. Now simply pull the ends of the rope thus making the circle grow smaller. The group must try to survive for as long as possible (They will fight for survival) I make a rule of no pushing, however team work is the key, getting people on your back, making a human tower etc. A person is out when they step over the rope.
Outpost
Outpost is a team game where players are separated into equal teams and given their own coloured flag-football flags which are worn around their waist. The objective of the game is to get the other teams flags. Flags that do not have stars are worth 100 points, flags that have stars counts as 1000 points per star (people that have flags with stars are called generals and are usually hidden by their teammates each round to avoid the other team capturing them). The game starts with one group in a room where they cannot see the other team while the other group is everywhere else. The people outside the room have a slight advantage since they can hide their generals first without worrying about the other team spotting them, also they can do a surprise attack on the other team (groups change starting positions each game). When the bell rings (or whatever you use to initiate and end the game) both teams are now allowed to go after the other team and hide their generals. When you get a flag off the opposing player you will both walk back to the place where a leader is keeping score and tell them how many points you got for your team colour, and then return the flag to the other player and go off again getting flags and finding generals. The player who was captured and gets his flag back then counts to ten out loud and puts his flag back on(during this time no one can capture him, he has time to get away and rest)
Newspaper War
Collect a ton of scrap paper (in most churches, just place a box next to the copier for 3 or 4 days!) Have the group divide in half and strategically place themselves around the room. Give the room a middle border. They aren't allowed to move and there should be an ammo pile towards the back. Give them 5 minutes to crumble all their ammo, and then cry WAR! After ten minutes of throwing paper, whomever has the most on the their side is the losing team
Giant bowling
Set up a giant size bowling alley in a large area - it could be anywhere! We use our carpark and draw lines using chalk to mark out the alley. Each player from the team gets chance to bowl the ball down the alley and knock over as many pins as possible. To add in some extra challenge-ness to the game, players can line up down the sides of the alley and are allowed to kick or push the ball if it comes near them. However, it might be a good idea to limit the number of times they can do this (i.e. 1 or 2) and make sure they can only do it in one direction (i.e. forwards).
Sack Race
Players hop to a finish line inside a sack or pillowcase.
