Clap Pass

Clap Pass

Physical Icebreakers

  • Players: 6 – 25
  • Duration: 5 - 10 min
  • Free to play

How to play

The group stands in a circle and sends a single clap around it: you turn to your neighbor and you both try to clap at exactly the same instant, then they turn and pass it on. Once the group can send it around smoothly, chase speed records with a stopwatch, reverse direction mid-flow when someone claps twice, or send two claps racing opposite ways to collide. It sounds trivial — until you feel a thirty-person circle click into one shared rhythm.

Shadow Tag

A no-contact tag variant for sunny days. Instead of touching other players, the person who is "it" tags someone by stepping on their shadow and calling their name. Because nobody is grabbed or pushed, this version is perfect for mixed ages and small spaces. Play in an open area in the morning or late afternoon when shadows are long. Whoever is tagged becomes the new "it". For extra chaos, make everyone who is tagged also "it" until one shadow remains free.

Broom

The participants form a circle, each with brooms standing in reverse (the top of the stick placed on the ground). The participants must move to the next place by releasing their broom and running to the broom that the participant next to them has just released. He who drops his broom loses, and the circle shrinks. When the number of people in the circle is less than 5, they should stand further away than normal so they should run more and be faster. This accompanied by music.
