Fox and Hounds

Fox and Hounds

Teamwork Physical Outdoor

  • Players: 6 or more
  • Duration: 30 - 60 min
  • Average cost: $1

How to play

A trail-chase across a big outdoor area. One small team — the foxes — gets a five-minute head start and must lay a visible trail as they go: chalk arrows, flour dashes, or clothes-peg markers every twenty paces. The hounds then track them. The foxes may use tricks like false trails and loops, but must keep marking honestly. The foxes win by reaching an agreed finish point before being caught; the hounds win by tagging them first. Agree boundaries and a return time before starting.
