Egg Drop Challenge

Egg Drop Challenge

Teamwork Indoor Couch Games

  • Players: 4 or more
  • Duration: 30 - 45 min
  • Average cost: $3

How to play

Each team gets one raw egg and an identical kit of junk — straws, tape, newspaper, balloons, rubber bands, cardboard. They have twenty minutes to engineer a contraption that will protect the egg from a high drop: a balcony, a ladder, a second-story window. Then comes the ceremony: each team explains their design, the crowd counts down, and the egg drops. Survivors advance to a higher drop until one egg reigns. Equal parts engineering lesson and gameshow — have paper towels ready.

Water Bomber

"Water Bomber" is typically a fast-paced, action-packed game played outdoors, especially popular during summer months or at pool parties. In this game, participants use water balloons or water guns to soak opponents. The game's setup and rules can vary widely, but common versions involve teams or free-for-all scenarios where players aim to drench others while avoiding getting wet themselves. If someone gets hit with a water bomb then they must go to jail for a couple minutes. "Water Bomber" is well-loved for its refreshing fun and the excitement of splashing and dodging in hot weather, making it ideal for both children and adults seeking a playful way to cool down.

Countdown Guessing

The game host decides on a certain amount of time. Using a watch, they set a countdown for this time when they say "Go". Players cannot communicate with each other in any way. Each player must decide when they think the amount of time has passed and indicate by raising their hand. The closest to the actual time wins. (Alternative: Have the stopwatch beep when time is up. Last player to put up their hand before time runs out wins)

Down by the Banks

Sit in a circle, each player's right hand resting palm-up on their neighbor's left palm. As the group chants the traditional rhyme — "Down by the banks of the hanky panky…" — each player claps their right hand onto the next person's palm, passing the beat around the circle. Whoever would be slapped on the rhyme's final word must yank their hand away in time; too slow and they're out. Circles shrink until two players face off in a tense two-hand duel.
