The Green Glass Door

The Green Glass Door

Outdoor

  • Players: 5 – 20
  • Duration: 10 - 20 min

How to play

The host announces they're going through the Green Glass Door and can bring certain things: "I can bring a puppy, but not a dog. Grass, but not a lawn. The moon, but not the sun." Players take turns proposing items and the host rules them in or out, until one by one they crack the hidden pattern — anything spelled with a double letter passes the door. Solvers keep the secret and join in with their own examples, tormenting the rest. Any pattern works for repeat groups once this one is burned.

Flashlight Tag

Played after dark. One player holds a flashlight and counts at base while everyone hides. Instead of tagging by touch, the seeker "tags" a player by catching them in the flashlight beam and calling their name. Named players return to base and wait. If the seeker calls the wrong name, the hider may relocate. Rotate the seeker each round so everyone gets a turn with the light. Agree on the play area in daylight first, and remove trip hazards before you start.
