Helium Stick
- Players: 6 – 14
- Duration: 10 - 20 min
- Average cost: $2
How to play
Two rows of players face each other and hold out index fingers at chest height. Rest a long, light pole (a tent pole or dowel) across everyone's fingers. The task sounds insultingly simple: lower the stick to the ground together, with every finger staying in contact at all times. Instead, the stick mysteriously rises — everyone's tiny upward pressure to "stay in contact" adds up. Groups accuse each other of lifting before they figure out the fix. A ten-minute masterclass in coordination, communication, and blame.

Red Rover
Two teams form lines facing each other about 30 feet apart, holding hands firmly. One team calls "Red Rover, Red Rover, send [name] right over!" The named player runs and tries to break through the linked hands of the opposing line. If they break through, they take one opponent back to their team; if not, they join the opposing line. Teams alternate calls until one team has absorbed everyone. Ask players to link at the hands and wrists only, and keep the running distance short to stay safe.

Divide into two teams. Both teams divide again into two lines and then sit with their feet touching one another. Number each pair. When a number is called, those two must run around their team's "caterpillar", over all the legs of their team members, and back to their original spot. The team back first is the winner.
