Hula Hoop Pass
- Players: 8 – 30
- Duration: 10 - 15 min
- Average cost: $2
How to play
The group joins hands in a circle with one hula hoop hanging on someone's arm. Without anyone letting go of their neighbors' hands, the hoop must travel the whole way around the circle — each player wriggling their body, head, and legs through it before shrugging it along to the next person. Time the first lap, then challenge the group to beat their record. For rivalry, run two hoops in opposite directions and watch the collision, or race two separate circles head to head.

Jump off a chair
Blindfold a person and have them stand on a chair. Tell them they are going to jump off the chair when it is held high in the air. Two people on the side lift the chair slightly off the ground. The host asks the player on the chair to touch them on the shoulder, then the host ducks so the person thinks they are very high in the air. They then jump and land way sooner than they expect. It's quite funny.

Matball
Kickball's big-gym cousin, beloved in schools. Bases are large gym mats, and any number of runners can stand on a base at the same time — so a whole team can pile up on second waiting for a big kick. Runners must circle the bases twice to score, doubling the drama. The fielding team gets kickers out by catching flies or hitting runners below the shoulders with the ball between mats. Three outs (or a full rotation of kickers) swaps the sides.

Squirrels
Everyone gets into groups of three. Two people stand facing each other and join hands to create an arch they are the tree, the third person crouches underneath it and becomes the squirrel. You need one extra person to be the 'caller'. (If you have odd numbers you can have two callers) The caller can shout one of three things: 1 - "Hunter" If hunter is shouted then all the squirrels run to a new 'tree' the 'caller' then tries to steal the place of a squirrel. If they are successful then the person left without a tree becomes the new 'caller' (*The trees do not move) 2 - "Fire" If fire is shouted the trees move to a new squirrel, they must find a new partner to create a tree over a squirrel. The 'caller' then tries to steal the place of a tree leaving someone new out and they become the new 'caller'. 3 - "Earthquake" If this is shouted then everyone moves and takes a new position as either a tree or a squirrel. Again the 'caller' steals someone's place and a new 'caller' is made.
