Teamwork Mind Games

How to play

One player becomes the world's leading expert on a subject the audience invents on the spot — underwater bicycle repair, the history of left shoes, competitive napping. A host interviews them for three minutes, and the expert must answer every question with total confidence and a straight face: hesitation is the only way to fail, because nonsense delivered with authority is the entire joke. For the team version, three players answer one word each in sequence, forcing the "expert" to be a single mind with three mouths.

The Imposter Artist

  • 5 - 20 min
  • ~$1/person

The Imposter Artist

The host chooses a word, writes it on paper and gives it to the participants. The twist is, one participant will get a paper that says imposter. Now, the host chooses one player to start drawing. Each participant draws one line at a time, but must try not to make it so obvious. The imposter needs to pretend to know what he/she is drawing. Everyone draws twice (two turns) and then the group gets to vote who they think the imposter is. If the imposter tricks the other participants, he/she wins the game.

Vacation Slideshow

Two players return from an imaginary holiday and narrate their photo slideshow. The photos are alive: the rest of the group leaps into frozen poses for each slide — with no idea what the narrators will claim the picture shows. Each "click" brings a new frozen tableau, and the narrators must confidently explain whatever chaos they see: "And here's Margaret wrestling the hotel flamingo." Poses and narration escalate together. Rotate narrators every few slides so everyone gets both jobs.
